Black History Month

Am I the only one that finds Black History Month offensive?

Perhaps there was a time when it was needed. But blacks should see it as a slap in the face. All black history and any other different racial history should be incorporated into American history and be taught at the appropriate time slot. For example, when teaching the 19th century throw in Fredrick Douglass, etc...

The whole idea of black history month seems silly to me. Black history is American history and should be treated as such. The point of the Civil Rights movement was to give blacks and other minorities eaqual footing in society. Black history month essentially promotes divisiveness.

It seems that so-called black "leaders" are using the race issue to create an "us vs them" mindset among the black community. They Jesse Jacksons and Harry Bellafontes of the black community lay the blame for all the problems that affect the black community on the rest of America. They make them feel disenfranchised. Having a black history month reinforces this.
