Fire Rumsfeld 2 Months Ago!
I believe the time may have passed for Bush to fire Rumsfeld without appearing impotent. Bush could have shored up more support and created a new energy for the war by naming a new S.O.D but he chose to wait and do nothing. If he replaces him now he will appear weak and reactionary. But every day that he does not he seems more and more out of touch. Tough position but his own fault.

Bush is definitely out of touch with the American people and has been since he dragged us into this war.
His head is the one that needs to roll, not Rumsfeld's. And even if Bush had seized the opportunity to name a Secretary, or if he does now, I'd bet my life savings it would be just another one of his college buddies with no experience. That would surely gain him support! 2008 can't come quick enough.
You're right, he should've been fired at the beginning of the war, but better late than never.
